Beautiful men in expensive clothes fighting over a powerless girl sounds shallow until you realize the show does not care what you think about that. Haru Asagi takes a job as a maid in the Miyanomori household during Japan's Taishou era, sent there to help her struggling family. The Miyanomori are among the most influential families in the country, led by one of its top magnates and his six sons, whose wealth and power have made them cruel. When the father suddenly declares his retirement, one of the brothers must take over, and the six begin competing for his place. Eighteen years separate the eldest from the youngest, so tension runs high, and Haru has to deal with each very different brother and come to know who they really are.
