Two episodes that most people never got to watch, locked behind a phone screen like a secret handshake. This is the tail end of Hipira's run in Salta, the city where the sun never rises and a small vampire still has to show up to school and deal with bullies. The whole appeal was always the scale of it: no epic stakes, just a kid with fangs, the little soul he befriended, and whatever prank or giant frog the day coughed up. Katsuhiro Otomo and Shinji Kimura's storybook look survives the jump to animation, all crooked architecture and goopy color, the kind of design that makes a three minute short feel bigger than it is. Tracking down 11 and 12 is the point. Completing a set nobody else bothered to complete is its own quiet flex.
