The 3D looks like it was made in 2008 because it was, but it moves with a freedom that cel animation can't touch, these three girls glide through space like they actually exist in it. Nobody's heard of this one, and the story doesn't explain itself enough to care, but you watch it for the same reason you'd watch a music video: pure aesthetic pull and three characters you believe in the moment they're onscreen. By episode three, that cheap 3D animation becomes the point, not the problem.
In a future where the sun's radiation has grown stronger, children are born with unusual powers, and humanity has evolved into a new species called Adapters. Thirteen-year-old Kakyouin Amuri has an Allergy known as Repulsion, which protects her from harm but keeps her from touching almost anything around her, other people included. When attackers from the huge junk satellite Galapagos destroy the space station Pink Coral, Amuri survives, only to be taken by them. A cheerful, odd girl named Ling Yunque then appears with a kimono-style spacesuit made from Amuri's DNA, which lets Amuri use Repulsion on a massive scale, and for someone who has never been able to touch another person, Ling proves the exception: she is not pushed away when they make contact. Told in three 3D-animated OVA episodes, the sci-fi fantasy adventure sends three young Adapter girls from Japan, China and France into space on a journey that will shape the fate of their kind.
