A broke countryside girl takes a free ride at a rich girls' school, only to discover her payment is living and working in a tiny manga cafe with her classmates. Meiko Morita leaves her rural hometown for Tokyo to attend the prestigious Amamiya Girls' Academy, where her expenses are covered as long as she takes part in activities. She pictures a glamorous dormitory, but the residence turns out to be a manga cafe that the students run themselves as community service, and Meiko ends up living in one of its small booths. The cramped setup proves better than she expected. Though she struggles with modern technology, she is warmly welcomed by her fellow residents: Rie Amamiya, the head of the dorm; Marika Suzuki, a popular streamer; and Neo Nakano, who hopes to become a professional gamer. Together they balance school with keeping the cafe running in a comedic slice of life story with ecchi touches.
