The animation here is so noticeably better than the series that it makes you see these characters moving in a way that feels new. After Naraku's defeat, the group finally splinters. Sango hunts for her brother, Miroku returns home, while Inuyasha and Kagome continue collecting the last Shikon shards with young Shippo. The fragile peace shatters when the full moon begins rising every single night. Kagura and Kanna, two of Naraku's subordinates, set out to find a mirror in which Kaguya, ruler of the eternal night, lies sealed. To release her, they must collect five items and cast them into the five lakes of Fuji.
