Jonathan Joestar is a boy from an aristocratic family whose life is overturned when a mysterious newcomer, Dio Brando, arrives. Dio has ties to Jonathan's father and becomes Jonathan's adoptive brother, and a rivalry grows between them as Dio fixates on an ancient stone mask kept by the elder Joestar. Dio spends years trying to break Jonathan, poisons their father, and uses the Stone Mask to become an immortal vampire. Jonathan trains in the ancient martial art of Hamon under the eccentric Italian Will A. Zeppeli, and the pair set out to stop Dio before he can enslave humanity. The 2007 film adapts Part 1 of Araki Hirohiko's manga and blends action, adventure and horror. It played only in a limited theatrical run, never reached home media, and is now considered largely lost.
