Morioh City doesn't feel like a threat until you realize the killer is already here, walking past you in every episode. Josuke isn't trying to save the world, he's trying to save his town, and that smaller scale makes every death matter more than apocalypses in other series. The show treats a small Japanese town like it's worth the same narrative weight as Egypt, and by episode 39 you understand why that's the entire point.

In 1999, high schooler Josuke Higashikata lives in the small, peaceful Japanese town of Morioh. Jotaro Kujo, now a marine biologist, travels there to meet him. Josuke is the illegitimate son of Jotaro's grandfather, Joseph Joestar. Jotaro soon learns that Josuke also wields a Stand, and that a new threat is rising in Morioh. Along with the mild-mannered Koichi Hirose and the loud Okuyasu Nijimura, they investigate disappearances, killings and other odd happenings around town, while a mysterious Arrow awakens latent Stand powers across Morioh. The TV series adapts the fourth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga, set years after Jotaro's battle with DIO in Egypt.
