Natsuru's stuck in a girl's body on a mission he didn't sign up for, and the show finds comedy gold in the gap between what he wanted and what he got. The animation overhaul makes every transformation and fight actually worth watching instead of squinting at. It's pure fan service continuation that doesn't pretend to be anything else, just better at being it.

Kämpfer für die Liebe is a two-episode special, numbered as episodes 13 and 14, that picks up after the TV series. In the first episode, Mikoto, Akane and Shizuku have all fallen for Natsuru, a boy who becomes a girl as a Kämpfer, so the rival White Kämpfer faction, working with Kaede, tries to split the group by hypnotizing Mikoto and manipulating Natsuru. In the second, the female Natsuru is still struggling with her large chest, and Akane suggests they take a part-time job together to pay for bigger bras. The work turns out to be a dubious gig at a themed café, where some of their classmates happen to be holding a mixer. Expect action, comedy and plenty of ecchi.
