Sanpei is a young beekeeper and the only survivor of an accident that killed his whole family. He meets Chiyo, a girl who gets stung by a bee, and begins a new life in her village. There he works the land the villagers had abandoned, and in time it fills with flowers. Then Sanpei disappears, and Chiyo waits among the blooms, convinced he will come back. The film is a quiet drama in the slice-of-life mode, centered on loss and starting over.
