Makoto Maegami, a timid fifth grader, finds a mysterious bouncing hairball stuck to his head. After it gobbles up one of his buttons, it turns into an alien-looking creature called Gonjiro, a lively being made of yarn. Thanks to his woolly body, Gonjiro can fit himself to things and change into almost anything, and he puts that knack to work getting Makoto out of every kind of trouble. The result is a fuzzy comedy of misadventures that mixes action, adventure and fantasy across 51 episodes.
