Gokudou is a show that makes fun of every fantasy adventure trope the moment it acknowledges them. The protagonist is a complete idiot with zero heroic instincts, and the plot doesn't care enough to punish him for it, instead, it just keeps throwing escalating chaos at him and watching him stumble upward anyway. There is no grand story here, just a speeding comet of absurdity that trusts you to laugh at the wreckage instead of asking for it to mean something.

Gokudou steals a pouch from a fortuneteller, believing a gem is inside. It holds only a rock, and out of it comes Djinn, a genie who grants him the usual three wishes. Gokudou gives little thought to what he asks for, and each wish comes true in a way he never expected. His best prize is Honou no Maken, a magic sword that unleashes fire attacks and can be summoned from anywhere in the world. Even so, respect stays out of reach. Djinn, who can also change shape, turns him into a woman. Rubette La Late tags along as a possible love interest, though she cares more about adventure, karaoke and beating Gokudou at everything. The fortuneteller keeps turning up to whack him on the head. Later a former evil magician called Prince joins as another sidekick, better looking and a smoother womanizer than Gokudou. The result is a fantasy adventure comedy built around a hapless anti-hero.
