The daughters of legendary samurai inherit their fathers' duty, not their swords, and spend their time hunting ghosts in Meiji-era Kyoto instead of fighting for a cause that already won. Meiji-era Japan needs protectors, and the daughters of former Shinsengumi members are called on to serve, much as their fathers once were. Kondou Yuuko, Hijikata Toshie and Okita Kaoru take on the job of guarding the country from its present troubles. Most of their work in and around Kyoto means putting down strange paranormal occurrences that keep appearing more and more often, while also shielding the city from any other threat that comes along.
