A car hits you and you're suddenly three years ahead, watching yourself become a ghost. You have to find the version of you that disappeared into a war zone before you both stop existing. The show trades the rom-com softness of the original for something harder: a kid who has to become an adult in the future to save himself from being erased.

Nineteen-year-old Kyosuke Kasuga ignores a mysterious phone call warning him about oncoming cars, and when a car hits him, his telepathic abilities send him three years ahead in time. In 1994 his 22-year-old self is a war photographer covering the Bosnian War who has gone missing there and is believed dead. Kyosuke must find his future self and return to the time where he belongs. Along the way he runs into Hikaru Hiyama, now a famous professional dancer, and finds Madoka Ayukawa distraught over both versions of him: the one lost in Bosnia and the one struck by the car. Struggling to make sense of three years of change, he tries to understand the feelings of the women in his life. The film mixes romance and comedy with drama and fantasy.
