Leo is a white lion cub born aboard an ocean liner that wrecks near a busy city, where he spends his early years picking up the language and habits of people. Sensing something is missing, he heads back to Africa to find his family and a place to belong. His father, the jungle's former king, is killed by a human hunter, and the title of king passes to Leo. He works toward peace between the animals and the humans who share his African home and compete with them for land and resources. As he grows, he must endure a harsh environment, danger from other animals, and hunters who kill lions for sport, and his grasp of human ways may help end the fighting. Kimba the White Lion is a 52-episode adventure series from 1965.
