Kinnikuman throws you into a tournament where the rules are negotiable, the wrestlers are literal monsters, and winning means nothing if you lose your sense of humor doing it. The movie treats absurdity as the highest form of sincerity: a championship belt stolen by an Octopus Dragon is not a setup for irony, it is the entire point. You watch because the show knows the only thing cooler than a perfect wrestler is a wrestler who makes you laugh while destroying someone twice his size.

The Octopus Dragon and his minions make off with two things that matter to Kinnikuman: his championship belt and Mari. To get both back, Kinnikuman and the rest of the Justice Choujins set out for Planet Metro, where they have to fight their way through a tournament.
