This is a 26-minute exhale. Kobo-chan does what it does best: finds the small, true moments in ordinary life and lets you sit there without rushing. The special doesn't need a plot or stakes because the comedy lives in how a kid and his family actually talk to each other, joke with each other, exist together. Kobo-chan Special: Yakusoku no Magic Day is a single comedy and slice-of-life special from 1998. It is one of the Kobo-chan television specials that were broadcast after the regular TV anime had finished its run. In some parts of Japan the airing was interrupted, because of an earthquake in the vicinity of Miyagi Prefecture.
