A puppy's first time outside the house becomes the whole world, every curb is a cliff, every stranger a mystery, every moment life-or-death in the way only a child understands it. A curious puppy named Koro bolts from his home when he spots his young owner Sawako heading out the door for school. What starts as an impulsive chase quickly spirals into an unexpected journey through an unfamiliar neighborhood. For the tiny dog, the world beyond his front gate is full of wonder and danger: a car nearly hits him, an alley cat menaces him, and each corner reveals something new. Back home, Sawako discovers her puppy missing and panic sets in. She and her father ride around town, posting signs about the lost dog on power poles. Meanwhile, Koro's small adventure continues as he meets strangers, both kind and threatening, and sees the town from a perspective entirely his own. This short film, made to be shown only at the Ghibli Museum, tells a tender story from a puppy's point of view, where ordinary surroundings turn into genuine peril and wonder.
