A kid and a robot arguing their way across a fantasy world that treats their partnership like an actual marriage. Ryu's not just machinery following orders, he's got opinions, doubts, a real stake in whether Adeu becomes what he's supposed to be. The mecha fights matter because they're about two beings learning to trust each other in a world actively trying to pull them apart.
Earthtear is a legendary land full of mysteries, home to monsters, fairies, giants and magicians. Adeu the Sonic, the brash young pilot of the Ryu Knight Zephyr, sets out on a training journey with Ryu, a robot with a will and mind of its own, aiming to become a genuine knight. Princess Paffy, Priest Izumi and Ninja Sarutobi join him along the way, and the group meets many people of the land, other Ryus among them. Adeu looks to pit his Ryu against rivals and grow stronger through each match. Meanwhile, enemies are closing in behind the travelers, intent on taking control of Earthtear. The series blends fantasy adventure with mecha action.
