Keitaro's drowning between studying for tests he's already failed once and a Christmas confession deadline he can't postpone. The show knows exactly how funny the panic is when every single thing you need to do happens on the same day. By the end, you understand why this matters to him more than passing the exams.

Winter arrives in Hinata, and Keitaro faces two things at once: another round of preliminary tests and Christmas. Because this is the first Christmas of the millennium, a rumor says that anyone who confesses love on this special eve will have the wish granted. Keitaro makes up his mind to confess to Naru. As a retaker, though, can he afford to let romance pull his focus from tests that fall on the same day? And he soon finds that he is not the only one planning a confession that night. The result is a romantic comedy special set over a single Christmas Eve.
