A boy born cursed by his own name meets a girl whose entire purpose is to fix what the universe broke in him. Mai doesn't argue or analyze his bad luck, she just decides Christmas happens tonight, and the two of them are going to be the reason it does. There's real sweetness underneath the ecchi jokes, the kind that makes you believe in the bit because the characters believe in each other first. The OVA format means this doesn't overstay, two episodes, zero padding, all momentum toward a genuinely earned happy ending. It's silly and earnest at the exact same time, which is harder to pull off than it looks.

Santa is an unlucky boy born on Christmas Eve, and his parents show little interest in him. He is by himself on the holiday when Mai turns up in his room: a Santa Claus in training, wearing a miniskirt, who promises to make him happy for one night. Set on giving him the finest Christmas of his life, she brings him a little luck, and over the course of the evening the two fall for each other. Adapted from a 1998 one-shot manga by Ken Akamatsu, the two-episode OVA blends comedy, fantasy, romance and a dash of ecchi humor.
