A playboy forced to raise his abandoned cousin discovers fatherhood before he discovers himself. The show takes its premise seriously in ways that ambush you, trading easy jokes for moments where a five-year-old's pain becomes real. Kippei learns to be needed before he learns to need anything, and by the end you're watching a kid raise a kid, both of them healing the only way they know how.

Katakura Kippei lives for one thing: chasing girls. His high school days are a blur of flirtation and zero responsibility. That changes the day he comes home to discover he must now look after his five-year-old cousin, Yuzuyu. Her mother, his aunt Miyako, has vanished and seems to have walked out on her, so Kippei's family takes the girl in until she can be found. Kippei knows next to nothing about childcare, and even simple tasks like packing a school lunch trip him up. Yuzuyu, meanwhile, is hurting badly from her mother's disappearance. What unfolds is a comedy with a strong dramatic streak. Kippei stumbles through the role of caretaker in ways that are both funny and touching, as his playboy habits run up against the needs of a little girl who depends on him.
