Lupin stops being a thief for ninety minutes and becomes a guy who actually has to work for something. The statue doesn't matter. What matters is watching him scheme against Goemon's pride, a gangster's greed, and his own grandfather's legend all at once, underwater, inside the Titanic. This is Lupin when he's cornered and has to be clever instead of just lucky.

Lupin's latest caper sends him after a small dragon statue that went down with the Titanic and now lies deep beneath the sea. Not even Goemon's Zantetsuken, the sword that slices through steel, can cut it, and it once slipped out of the hands of Lupin's own grandfather. A Hong Kong crime boss hires Lupin, Jigen and Fujiko to bring it up. Goemon has other plans: the dragon belongs to his clan, is said to hold power greater than his sword, and he is ready to guard it at any cost, even against his old friends. The result is an adventure comedy special with a treasure hunt at its center.
