Lupin marries a woman he just met, steals from a masked nobleman, and somehow makes the entire thing feel inevitable. The show moves with the confidence of something that knows you've been waiting for more Lupin, and it doesn't waste time proving why that matters. A con wrapped inside a con wrapped inside a wedding, where the real score is figuring out which one actually happened.

Rebecca Rossellini, a young woman from a leading San Marino family, runs the Rossellini conglomerate and its chain of hotels, the biggest in Italy. When she is kidnapped, Lupin hurries to rescue her, and after he saves her she takes an interest in him and the two marry right away. Lupin also gets a written challenge from a mysterious figure known as The Masked Count, who proposes a contest to see who can secure the inheritance of Count Cagliostro first. The action comedy special is set in Italy and reuses footage from several episodes of the Lupin III TV series then airing, weaving their storylines together.
