The concert becomes a war crime, and the second half refuses to look away from what that costs the people you've been rooting for all series. The animation during Walküre's final performance is so deliberately beautiful it feels like a eulogy. This is a movie made for people who stayed through the TV series, it doesn't explain itself, doesn't apologize, and rewards that loyalty by actually resolving the love triangle instead of leaving it hanging.

In 2068, the fighting between the Windermere Kingdom and the New U.N. Government has been brought to a halt by Hayate's Valkyrie squad and the Tactical Sound Unit Walküre. Earlier, Walküre and Delta Flight used music to rescue people from the Vár Syndrome, a disease that drove humans and others berserk. Now Walküre stages a concert in Windermere to mark the ceasefire, but a mysterious Heimdall battleship appears and attacks the village. The movie mixes mecha action and music with science fiction and romance. It suits viewers who want their action with a little romance mixed in.
