Wim Strauss is a granting caster, a support mage whose spells raise the strength of his allies. Because his talent cannot be used directly in combat, the other members of his party think of it as dead weight and give him no respect. They soon kick him out, leaving Wim unsure whether his life as an adventurer is finished. His one real chance comes from Heidemarie, his childhood friend, who arranges an audition for him with Nachtlibelle, her elite A-rank party. Both of them believe his magic is worth far more than menial backup work, and now Wim has to prove it. This action fantasy follows his push to show that a support mage can do much more than wait on the back lines.
