A kid who's too small and too clumsy gets to be the glamorous adult magician she's always wanted to be the second she steps off that stage. The double life isn't angst, it's pure wish fulfillment, the kind that made magical girl anime matter to kids who felt stuck. Every episode is just Mai figuring out how to keep the secret while being exactly who she dreamed of becoming, and that's enough.

Kozuki Mai is an elementary school student who dreams of performing in her family's stage magic act, but she is too young and her tricks are not very good. Everything changes when a mysterious ball of light brings a stuffed flying squirrel to life and gives her the power to transform into Magical Emi, an 18-year-old magician who can do real magic. As Emi, Mai finally gets to join the act. The catch is that she must keep her identity a secret from her family and from her crush. Along the way, Mai still hopes to become a true stage magician through skill alone, without relying on real magic. A comedic magical girl series about a young girl chasing a big dream under a secret identity.
