Honmaru gets a magic genie and immediately uses it to solve actual fifth-grade problems: bullies, girls, social humiliation. The comedy lands because it never pretends these things don't matter to a kid. Taruruuto's powers are less about wish fulfillment and more about giving you permission to laugh at how absurd your own problems feel when you finally have leverage. This is a show that understands the specific comedy of the powerless suddenly getting power, then discovering power doesn't actually fix anything the way you thought it would.

Edojou Honmaru is a fifth grader who ranks among the most picked-on kids in his class. His luck starts to change when he meets Magical Taruruuto-kun, whose magic powers help him cope with his troubles, from girls and bullies to plenty of other everyday challenges. As the first feature film for Magical Taruruuto-kun, the movie mixes lighthearted comedy with fantasy adventure and a dash of ecchi humor.
