Mofurun stops being a sidekick and becomes the story. A stuffed animal gets one wish at a festival that only happens once every hundred years, and the movie spends its entire runtime watching what that actually means when a mascot character gets to want something real. The magical girl formula fractures the moment the mascot's desire matters more than the girls' mission.

Mirai and her friends travel to the Magical World for the Wishing Stone Festival, a celebration held only once every hundred years, when the stone picks one person and grants their wish. Mofurun is the one chosen, but a powerful bear called Dark Matter appears and carries off both the stone and Mofurun, planning to make her wish away every magician. Cut off from Mofurun and unable to transform into Pretty Cure, Mirai and Riko set out with Haa to bring their friend back. The film is a magical girl feature that mixes action, adventure and fantasy.
