An 11-year-old girl gets a magical twin sister who's actually a chaos demon trapped in a book. The entire show is built on that one premise working overtime. Tickle doesn't save the day or learn lessons; she just creates situations where two girls have to survive each other. This is pure 1978 mahou shoujo: plot is an excuse for comedy, magic is a joke delivery system, and watching two completely incompatible people share a life is the whole point.

Chiiko turns eleven, and her father marks the occasion by giving her a special book. Trapped inside it is a witch named Tickle. Once Chiiko sets her free, Tickle casts a spell so that she can pass herself off as Chiiko's twin sister. The 1978 TV series runs for 45 episodes and pairs magical girl fantasy with comedy.
