Rune and Oeufcoque's bond is the only thing that makes sense when the plot stops making it. The second film cranks the chaos to a point where you're either riding the momentum or drowning in it, there's no middle ground. Paradise isn't a destination; it's where the story collapses into itself, revealing everything and explaining nothing, which is exactly what keeps you watching.

Rune Balot clings to life as Shell's assassin, Boiled, closes in on her. With her companion Oeufcoque badly hurt, help arrives in the form of Doctor Easter and the Humpty Dumpty, a militarized vehicle built to protect people in Welfare cases whose lives are in danger. Their destination is Paradise, where the Scramble 09 technology was developed and where Boiled was reborn. In Paradise, the hidden past of Mardock City comes to light, along with hints about its future. The stakes rise as Rune must decide between seeking justice for herself and preserving the peace of Paradise.
