Yuuta leaves home to study abroad on a tiny, remote island and enrolls at Alphonso Gakuen, an all-male school where every student lives in the dormitories. The academy turns out to be meant for the children of famous families, and its classes center on empires and alchemy. Students who study there long enough come to be known as Marginal Princes, and each one is working toward becoming a king. Adapted from a romance simulation game series made for girls, the show centers on the destinies and ordeals these young men face on the road to the throne.
