The OAD exists in the space after the story ends, where you get to watch these characters just be themselves without the weight of the revenge plot hanging over everything. It's slice-of-life comfort food for people who already love them. The beach episode stuff is there if you want it, but the real hit is seeing Masamune and Yoshino in moments that feel earned, not earned toward anything.

A single special episode, shipped on a disc with the tenth manga volume, tells after-story material in three parts. First, Masamune Makabe comes home and mistakes a young girl for his cheerful mother, only to learn she is his cousin Haruka. Haruka, his mother and his Aunt Asae all look remarkably alike, so his sister Chinatsu talks the three into dressing up for some fun. Next, Aki Adagaki brings Neko Fujinomiya, Tae Futaba and Kojuurou Shuri back to Tsunade Island for another summer getaway, but Masamune stays behind after hurting himself by walking into a pole, and his absence leaves the group with mixed feelings. Finally, the maid Yoshino Koiwai earns a day off, gets a full makeover with her sister's help and is nudged into enjoying some time away from her demanding job. The result is light romantic comedy with a slice-of-life feel.
