Mash just keeps punching his way through problems that would require actual magic, and the show knows exactly how funny that stays. Season 2 cranks the absurdity higher, the entire Bureau of Magic wants him dead until a villain organization saves him, and the chaos never stops treating that premise like it makes perfect sense. The joke is that Mash's solution to every impossible situation is exactly what you expect, delivered with such deadpan conviction that you're laughing before the fist connects.

Mash Burnedead's secret is out after his clash with Magia Lupus, and the celebration is short. The Bureau of Magic summons him before the Divine Visionaries, who agree that he must pay for it with his life. Then the shadowy group Innocent Zero takes over the hearing and demands that Mash be kept alive. Mash shows he can stand up to Innocent Zero, yet the Divine Visionaries hold to their sentence. Help comes from unexpected allies, Divine Visionary Rayne Ames and Headmaster Wahlberg Baigan, who get his execution put off until Innocent Zero is beaten. To keep living, Mash has one task: be selected as the Divine Visionary candidate before the year ends. The second season of MASHLE covers the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc, mixing action and comedy in a fantasy setting.
