Eruna crashes into Mikagura expecting a cute boarding school romance and gets thrown into club battles instead, but her relentless energy makes watching her scramble through supernatural nonsense feel like hanging out with a friend who laughs at her own jokes. The show doesn't pretend the plot makes sense, a Godzilla robot shows up with zero explanation and everyone moves on. What sticks is how much fun Eruna has being a disaster, and how genuinely she cares about the weird people fighting beside her.

Eruna Ichinomiya picks Mikagura Academy after falling for a photo of Seisa Mikagura, its prettiest student, and for the school's adorable uniforms. Once enrolled, she learns every student must join a club, and the culture clubs send representatives to fight with special powers. Those battles set each club's rank, which decides the quality of its members' rooms and meals. Stuck with a sleeping bag and plain food, Eruna joins Seisa's going-home club and soon lands in the next club battle herself. From there she gets to know the other clubs, helps their members with personal troubles, and faces rivals all chasing the top spot, in a mix of action, comedy and fantasy.
