You're watching men with rifles trying to kill gods. Three episodes, three soldiers, each one dead before they understand what cursed them. MS IGLOO 2 exists in the gap nobody else bothers to fill, the ground-level horror of a war where your enemy doesn't need to see you to erase you. The CGI looks like it was rendered in 2005, all harsh shadows and digital mud. That's the point. These aren't heroes in a anime. They're conscripts watching their friends disappear into mobile suits that shouldn't exist, and the show burns through them before you get attached. By the time you understand the curse, it's already claimed the next one.

The One Year War doesn't care about fair fights. Federation soldiers armed with tanks and missiles face down Zaku mobile suits piloted by Zeon forces, and they're massively outgunned. A Death God has come down to Earth with the Zakus, and its curse hangs over the men sent to stop them. Each of the three episodes follows a different Federation soldier marked by that curse. Driven by a hunger for revenge, each one takes on the terrible power of the Zaku with nothing but conventional weaponry. A spin-off of the original MS IGLOO, this mecha OVA returns to the start of the war and tells it from the ground, through the eyes of the Federation foot soldiers.
