Only for people who loved Unicorn enough to sit with its ambiguities, but want something that trusts you to fill in the blanks instead of spelling them out.

Late in Universal Century 0096, the Earth Federation grows wary of the Psycho Frame. Intelligence officer Mehmet Merka forms a special unit to slip into the broken asteroid Axis, which drifts near the Earth Sphere, and investigate it. Two civilians join the team: Arlette Almage and Danton Hyleg, a former engineer and a former test pilot who once served Zeon and Neo Zeon. At a base thought to be abandoned, a private army attacks them with a Newtype Gundam, and they fight back in a red Zaku III Custom that Arlette and Danton both once worked on. Meanwhile Arlette, keeping her own feelings hidden, comes upon the wreckage of the Sazabi left on the asteroid's surface. Twilight AXIS is a six-episode mecha science fiction ONA.
