In a future where the world has lost its balance and vast forests have given way to a spreading desert, humans move to the world of Meshichi to live alongside the Anbots, a kind of robot. There, a mysterious young man named Sanzou meets Gokyuu, the strongest and most troublesome Anbot around. They travel with Tongoh, an Anbot who loves to drink, Jou, a skilled hand with machines, Suuji, a female Anbot thief, and Mioto. The group heads toward the far East in search of the land where the sun was born. To stop their world's destruction, they must gather 49 legendary keys that open a door marked by a twin headed dragon. Foes such as Loki and Professor D stand in their way, and the Anbots' weapons grow stronger over the course of the trip. The mix of comedy and science fiction follows friends who grow closer through their many adventures.
