This is the kind of throwaway extra that ends up being the thing you quote to friends, because Osomatsu-san never stops being funniest when nothing is happening. "Matsu-jiru" hands the sextuplets a morning that isn't like the usual ones, and if you've watched these six waste a single day for twenty-four minutes at a stretch, you already know how badly they can mishandle a special occasion. Then "Douteina Hero" puts Choromatsu in front of a college barbecue, which is basically a war crime against Choromatsu specifically. He's the brother who most desperately wants to be a functioning adult, and the title alone tells you exactly which wound the joke is going to press on. No plot, no stakes, just a NEET measuring himself against normies with grilled meat and finding out he's still the same guy in the same shared room.

Mr. Osomatsu Episode 3.5 is a comedy special made of two short segments. In the first, Matsu-jiru, the Matsuno boys wake up to a morning unlike their usual ones, and a special day begins for them. In the second, Douteina Hero, Choromatsu comes across a group of college students having a barbecue and feels inferior beside people who seem to live in another world, before something about the situation comes to light. The episode was made for the first home video volume as a replacement for the original first episode, which was pulled over its many parodies, and it takes its number from its place after episode 3.
