This is a show that knows exactly what it came to do and doesn't waste a single one of its eight minutes apologizing for it. The premise, a girl announces she's your wife and the student council just accepts it, gives the show permission to skip past all the usual romantic comedy buildup and go straight to the dynamic where she's already embedded in his life, which changes everything about how the jokes land. The ecchi bits aren't flourishes on top of character moments; they're the actual structure, and the show respects you enough not to pretend otherwise.

Izumi Hayato's student council ambitions crash when a beautiful rival, Wakana Ui, wins the presidency by promising to scrap every rule against campus romance. Stuck as vice president, Izumi then finds Ui at his house, announcing that she will be his wife thanks to a drunken pact their parents struck when the two were three. This second season picks up after the pair have married. They still hide the arrangement from everyone at school and often misread what the other wants. As they work together on the council and share a home, the odd couple slowly grows closer in a short-format ecchi comedy.
