A stuffed animal boy and the girl who doesn't know she's supposed to save him, the premise is slight, but the show trusts the romance to carry everything else. The animation bathes every scene in this soft, watercolor dreaminess that makes even standing in a garden feel like the only place that matters. By the time the final episode arrives, you realize the seven-color drops were never the point, watching two awkward people learn they're allowed to want each other was always the story.

Tsuwabuki Masaharu is a clumsy second-year middle schooler at Hoshigaoka School who struggles to talk to his classmates. After a teacher pushes him into the gardening club, a strange encounter in the hallway leads him to drink a magical potion by mistake, and now he becomes a stuffed sheep at night. To return to normal, he must have a chosen girl gather the seven stardrops that fall from the sky. That girl is Sumomo Akihime, a new transfer student in the club, who agrees to help the sheep without being allowed to learn who it really is. The result is a magical girl romance built around his double life.
