A kaiju emerges from Mars and levels Tokyo in real time, no time-skip, no mercy. Dr. Narasaki and his mecha Miroku face it alone because evacuation failed and the military is useless. In a near future Japan, the 100th year of the Showa era, Earth holds more than ten billion people, and a worldwide project is turning Mars into a place humans can live. When the spaceship Izanami, heading home from Mars, crashes on a Tokyo street, the monster Negadon that it carried is revived and set loose. Only one man seems able to stop it: Ryuuichi Narasaki, a middle-aged robotics expert who lost his daughter in an accident during his experiments. With his robot Miroku, he stands against the creature in a science fiction monster movie built around mecha action.
