SYNOPSIS
In 1923 Tokyo, a city caught between tradition and modernity, class lines blur in ways that threaten everything. Taka moves through the streets as a man trapped between worlds: bound to his yakuza connections yet drawn to a wealthy woman whose world should never intersect with his. When her devoted maidservant Sara meets him, three people collide in a constellation of desire and obligation that can only end in ruin. The city itself becomes a character, its mixture of old and new mirroring the characters' internal conflicts. Horsecarts roll past motorcars while men carry both swords and guns. In this liminal space, romance and honor cannot coexist.
