A wealthy woman and a man caught between worlds fall into something real in 1923 Tokyo, and the animation renders every glance like it matters. The show moves slowly enough to let you feel the weight of what they're risking, but it's only four episodes, by the time you understand what this romance actually costs them, it's over. Watch it for the character animation alone, but stay because it knows that dignity and desire don't always survive in the same person.

In Tokyo in the late summer of 1923, the city is a place of sharp contrasts: old ways beside new ones, wealth beside poverty, horse-drawn carts sharing the streets with automobiles, and swords alongside pistols. A woman from a well-to-do family finds herself attracted to Taka, a handsome young man who, together with his younger brother, appears tied to the yakuza, possibly against his will. When her young maid Sara also meets him, the conflict that follows points toward tragedy, passion and disgrace. As the weeks go by, a terrible date draws steadily nearer. The four-episode OVA is a period drama and romance.
