Four imposters walk into a desert town pretending to be legendary ninjas, and the movie spends ninety minutes making them pay for it in increasingly absurd ways. The real Ninku team's absence is the joke, these screwups have to survive being mistaken for the real thing while the actual legends stay conspicuously absent. Pierrot built a roster so detailed that even the side characters feel more dangerous than the heroes trying to fake their way through, and watching four people and a penguin stumble upward through impossible odds hits different when you know they're completely out of their depth.
A sleepy desert town becomes the stage for a comic case of stolen identity. After crashing their biplane in the desert, the hungry members of the real Ninku clan find a flyer advertising work as bouncers in a nearby town. They arrive too late for the job and end up as servants to the flashy bouncers who were hired instead. Those bouncers, a group of four and a penguin, are passing themselves off as the legendary Ninku. Being welcomed as the famous warriors comes at a cost for the impostors, because it means facing the deadly Heaven & Earth Brothers. When the genuine Ninku step in, the villains find themselves in trouble, and the clan's magic fighting art is set against the brothers' lethal style. The movie mixes action, adventure and comedy.
