The show is comedy first, cosmic horror second, and romance running underneath everything like an electric current. Nyaruko barrels through absurdist gags at machine-gun speed, then stops dead to actually make you care that she's terrified of losing Mahiro, and the tonal whiplash is exactly the point. Season two doubles down on what worked: faster jokes, weirder tangents, a protagonist who somehow makes jealous possession charming instead of creepy. It knows its own joke is wearing thin by now, so it stops trying to surprise you with the format and just commits harder to the emotional core. A show that shouldn't work as romance actually does, because Nyaruko's chaos is never random, it's all armor for something real. Watch this if you can sit with pure silliness and sudden sincerity in the same breath.

Nyaruko is back and still dragging Mahiro into misadventures tied to the Cthulhu mythos, all while trying to win his heart. She is not the only one with designs on him: Hasuta wants Mahiro too. Kuuko, meanwhile, is after Nyaruko, yet she is convinced that the first time of both Nyaruko and Mahiro is rightfully hers. Yoriko tolerates the whole situation and happily keeps the household running for everyone under her roof. Mahiro just wants some sanity. He has no wish to become the plaything of a Nyarlathotepan, a Cthughan or a Hasturan, and whether he can keep resisting is anyone's guess. The second season of Haiyore!
