Teruaki Nakamura moves from Tokyo to Okinawa and quickly falls for Hina Kyan, a lively classmate who makes sure he feels welcome at his new high school. The trouble is that her heavy local dialect leaves him struggling to follow what she says, even as she eagerly tells him all about Okinawan culture. Hina's best friend Kana Higa steps in to translate and even teaches him handy words and phrases, but she has a crush on Teru herself and uses the chance to spend time with him.
