Chopper's decision to join the crew lands with real weight here, stripped down to what matters. The remake doesn't just retell Drum Island, it remakes it through who Chopper becomes, and watching him choose his family over everything else hits different when Franky and Robin are there to witness it. This is Chopper's story told the way it needed to be told, even if the timeline doesn't quite make sense.

When Nami falls seriously ill, the Straw Hat crew sets course for Drum Island to find a doctor. The only physician left is the reclusive Dr. Kureha, who lives atop a mountain, so Luffy and Sanji carry Nami on a hard climb to reach her. Meanwhile, the island's former king Wapol returns with his brother Mushul, determined to reclaim his rule as a despot. Aided by new allies such as the half-human reindeer Tony Tony Chopper, the crew must save Nami and keep Wapol from dragging the island back into tyranny. The movie retells the Drum Island arc with new music and animation, drops Vivi, adds Robin and Franky, and features the Thousand Sunny, mixing action, adventure, comedy and fantasy.
