This one asks nothing of you except that you already love these idiots. You crack open a salvaged treasure chest expecting gold and get a grandmother instead, and the crew still says yes to the trip because she dangles a golden crown in front of Nami, whose eyes turn into berries on cue. Then the island's self-styled lord shells your ship on arrival before deciding you're useful for cracking his crown riddle, and the whole thing escalates into a giant mecha showdown that exists purely because someone wanted to draw a giant mecha. There's no theme here, no message, nothing buried underneath, which is exactly why it plays as the palate cleanser after Omatsuri Island left everyone staring at the wall. The camera also cannot leave Nami alone for more than four minutes, and you either roll your eyes or you don't. Pure comfort food with a robot in it.

The Straw Hat Pirates haul a treasure chest out of a sinking wreck, only to find an old woman hiding inside instead of loot. She offers them a legendary golden crown on her home island if they will take her back there, and the crew sets course for Mecha Island. When they arrive, the lord of the island attacks their ship. He soon changes his mind and decides to use the pirates to help him solve the mystery of the Golden Crown. A local folk song seems to hold clues to where the treasure lies, and the hunt leads the crew into traps they never expected. The result is a fantasy adventure film with plenty of comedy mixed into the treasure hunt.
