Saitama's boredom stops being funny the moment you realize the Monster Association actually threatens what little matters to him. The animation doesn't have the budget to match Season 1, but it knows where to spend it, every fight that counts lands harder because you're watching a man who's been waiting three years to actually care about something. Garou's arc turns the entire series inside out: instead of asking "what makes a hero," it asks whether the strongest person alive can stay human when power stops meaning anything.

Saitama became a hero for fun, and after years of training he is so strong that every enemy falls to a single punch. With his devoted disciple Genos at his side, he carries out official hero work for the Hero Association. Then monsters from the Monster Association take the child of an Association executive hostage, and the S-class heroes band together to raid the enemy hideout before the rescue deadline runs out. Meanwhile, the hero hunter Garou wakes up inside that same hideout, badly injured, where the monsters want him for their leadership. To earn his place he must kill a hero, but the target he picks is the unaware Saitama, who knocks him out without effort. Mixing action, comedy and sci-fi, the season builds toward a new clash between the two associations.
