Musashi keeps swearing the same oath at age ten, except this time he actually means it, and the show treats that childish promise like it's the only real thing in a world designed to make you forget it. Every episode ends with a fight because the story understands that watching someone get stronger matters more than pretending there's mystery about whether they will. It's pure old-school shounen energy, no irony, no deconstruction, just a kid with a sword and the kind of stubborn belief in himself that makes cynics furious.

Musashi grows up in a world where demons have ruled for a century and a half, crushing human spirits beneath their boots. As a kid, he and his best friend Kojirou dreamed of becoming legendary swordsmen who'd topple this tyranny. Years pass, and the fantasy fades. Kojirou turns cynical while Musashi, praised for his skill with a pickaxe, drifts toward a life of labor in the mines, though he quietly resents the demons he is expected to serve. But acceptance doesn't suit him. When injustice finally cuts too deep, Musashi realizes he can't ignore his childhood oath. The question isn't whether he's strong enough to fight demons. The real question is whether one person with a sword can actually change a world built on oppression. Orient mixes sword-swinging action with genuine heart, balancing comedy and camaraderie against the weight of an impossible mission. It's for anyone who wants to watch an underdog refuse to stay down, even when the odds suggest he should.
