SYNOPSIS
A swimming competition draws animals from all around, and Saru-kun the monkey refuses to let his complete lack of swimming ability stop him from competing. Pride overrides sense, and he launches himself into the pool only to plummet straight to the bottom. What he finds down there is far stranger than expected: a underwater landscape dense with seaweed and coral, and a kappa who guards his domain jealously. The two clash immediately, with Saru-kun managing to snatch the mythical creature's prized saucer before things escalate further. Rather than continue fighting, the kappa proposes a bargain. He'll carry Saru-kun through the water on his back if the monkey returns his precious saucer. It's a deal that lets Saru-kun cross the finish line while appearing to swim under his own strength, winning the race outright. But victories built on deception rarely come without cost, and fate has one final twist waiting at the pool's edge.
